The Legislator of the Year Award is granted annually to Members of Congress who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to improving our nation’s response to the addiction crisis.


The 2025 Legislators of the Year Awardees include Senator Shelley Moore Capito, Congresswoman Carol Miller, and Congressman Danny K. Davis.


Pillar of Excellence Awards

The 2025 Pillar of Excellence Awards honor four extraordinary leaders whose work is transforming the landscape of addiction prevention, treatment, recovery, and reentry across the United States. Each recipient embodies the spirit of innovation, compassion, and dedication that drives our mission forward.  


The Pillar of Excellence Awardees include: 

  • Dr. Valerie Earnshaw, Professor of Human Development and Family Sciences, University of Delaware

  • Dr. Brian Fuehrlein, Associate Professor, Yale University, Director of Acute Care Psychiatry, VA Connecticut Healthcare System

  • Deltrin Kimbro, Certified Peer Recovery Supporter Supervisor and Emergency Projects Coordinator for Let’s Get Real

  • Director Cam Ward, Director, Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles
