MAT Course for Prosecutors

Updated: Feb 20, 2023

Understanding Overdose Risk and Medication Efficacy

Addiction Policy Forum is launched an online course in partnership with the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) and the Justice Community Opioid Innovation Network (JCOIN) to help educate prosecutors and their staff on medications for addiction treatment and their effectiveness for people involved with the criminal justice system.

The course is free, self-paced, and takes approximately one hour to complete. Participants will learn about the three FDA-approved medications, the difference between an agonist, partial agonist, and antagonist medication, and who is most likely to benefit from each medication. Participants will also hear from patients about their experiences with substance use disorder treatment and how these medications played a significant role in their recovery. Certificates of completion are provided upon completion of the course.

(Free access; registration required)
