The Addiction Policy Forum (APF) is proud to offer a virtual instructor certification program for our nationally recognized Responding to Addiction training on Thursday, June 25th, 2026, from 12 - 4 PM EST. This is your opportunity to empower others, deepen your impact, and help bring evidence-based training to communities across the country.


Why Become an Instructor?

The Responding to Addiction course is trusted by professionals across sectors—doctors, nurses, first responders, teachers, employers, faith leaders, and more—equipping them with practical tools to support individuals facing substance use disorders.

Now, we're expanding our reach by offering a virtual training dedicated to instructors like you to deliver this transformative program to even more communities.


About the Instructor Program:

Our certification program is designed for individuals who are passionate about prevention, early intervention, treatment, and recovery support and want to help increase education and decrease the stigma surrounding addiction within their organization, community, or state. Instructor training is held virtually, allowing for flexible participation from anywhere in the country.


How to become a certified instructor:

  1. Register for the training: June 25th, 2026, 12-4 PM EST

  2. Pre-training Coursework – Complete self-paced online materials to prepare you for the training.

  3. Live Virtual Training – Attend the 4-hour interactive session led by APF.

  4. Instructor Agreement – Sign and commit to upholding APF’s training standards.

  5. Ongoing Engagement – Deliver at least one training per year to stay certified.


What Certification Includes

As a certified instructor, you'll receive:

  • A 4-hour live training with APF staff

  • Quarterly Instructor calls with fellow instructors

  • Access to continued education opportunities via webinars, newsletters, and learning materials

  • Instructor Toolkit with customizable marketing materials to help promote your trainings

  • PowerPoint for presentation with all the talking points

  • Direct support from APF staff for training challenges

  • Ability to distribute free digital manuals to your participants

  • Option to purchase physical participant manuals

  • Future opportunities for certification in other APF courses


Cost: $300 per instructor
