We’re excited to announce that registration is open for the Fall 2025 Anti-Stigma Institute, hosted by Addiction Policy Forum.
Join us September 29–30, 2025, at The Darcy Hotel in Washington, DC, for a dynamic two-day institute that equips leaders with the tools and strategies to reduce stigma and drive meaningful change. This innovative in-person training is designed for any who is committed to addressing and eliminating stigma surrounding addiction.
What You’ll Gain:
Tools to Address Stigma within your Organization, Community, or State
Access to a community stigma survey to measure the level of addiction literacy, beliefs around policies surrounding substance use disorders, and the level of stigma around addiction, manifesting in stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination.Â
Three-year certification to deliver enCompass, an evidence-based training geared towards family members, loved ones, and caregivers of an individual with a substance use disorder. It has been shown to increase addiction knowledge and decrease stigma among attendees.
A three-year certification to deliver an evidence-based training geared towards professionals, Responding to Addiction, has been shown to increase addiction knowledge and decrease the stigma around addiction among attendees.
A stigma social media awareness campaign was created to correct common myths and misinformation surrounding addiction.
Expert-Led Trainings: Engage with experts on the science of addiction, stigma, and public messaging frameworks.
Hands-On Workshops:Â Participate in immersive exercises to sharpen your communication skills and apply evidence-based stigma reduction strategies.
Science of Stigma:Â Learn about the neurobiology of addiction, the impact of stigma on treatment access and recovery, and how to use data to inform public narratives.
Peer Collaboration:Â Network with like-minded professionals dedicated to eliminating stigma within their organization, community, and state, with experiences from nationwide.
Practical Tools and Action Planning:Â Leave with a customized anti-stigma toolkit and an implementation roadmap for your community or organization.
10 continuing education credits for Physicians (AMA PRA Category 1 Creditsâ„¢), Psychologists (APA), and Social Workers (ASWB).
