Addiction Policy Forum is excited to be partnering with MTV in celebrating September as National Recovery Month by hosting weekly screenings of the new docu-series “16 and Recovering” which follows the student and staff of a Recovery High School in suburban Boston.

“16 and Recovering” is an intimate, four-part documentary series that follows the triumphs and challenges of students attending an innovative public school in Beverly, MA. Northshore Recovery High School students are on the road to graduation while battling substance use disorders and mental health challenges. Through the experiences of these students and the teachers, administrators, and family that surround them, the series breaks down the many misconceptions around addiction and highlights the systemic barriers to treatment — all while emphasizing that recovery is in reach. The series premiered Tuesday, 9/1/20 on MTV with one new episode coming every Tuesday throughout September.

Addiction Policy Forum will host one screening (via Zoom) of each episode every Wednesday starting September 9th at 7:00 pm (CST) followed by a Q&A with our panel of guests. We hope you will join us in our effort to shift the narrative around substance misuse.
