National Addiction Nonprofit Implements eIntervention to Get More Individuals into Treatment Via Digital Referrals and Engagement
Washington DC, October 15, 2019 – The Addiction Policy Forum (APF), a national nonprofit focused on eliminating addiction, today announced its partnership with CHESS Health, the leading provider of addiction management technology, to implement its new digital referral solution, eIntervention, across the state of Massachusetts.
eIntervention is a referral management solution + smartphone app that connects referring entities and addiction treatment providers based on service, geography, and payer coverage, which motivates and supports the individual and family to get to treatment, and tracks the individual’s journey across the continuum.
APF will use eIntervention in its Addiction Resource Center (ARC) to support its mission of providing new, effective resources and support for individuals and families in crisis. By conducting a comprehensive pre-screening of providers, APF eliminates a step for those seeking treatment by offering trained counselors who provide free, confidential support. The referral functionality of CHESS’s eIntervention solution will help the ARC staff connect individuals and families to qualified providers; the integrated Connections App will give the individual and family on-going support after the call through secure messaging with ARC staff, online family support groups, and motivating and informative content.
“When it comes to addiction treatment, there is an ongoing problem with connecting individuals to the right providers, locations, and programs,” said Jessica Hulsey Nickel, founder of Addiction Policy Forum. “We are delighted to work with an innovative and forward-thinking company such as CHESS Health to bring a much-needed technology to connect families, providers, and individuals. Digitizing the referral process and providing invaluable support and content to the individuals during the referral process will be transformative in the fight against addiction.”
“Improving the quality of addiction treatment for both patients and providers is at the center of everything we do,” said Hans Morefield, chief executive officer of CHESS Health. “We are thrilled to partner with a like-minded organization such as APF and work together for a great common cause. By supporting patients throughout their treatment journey and making the ‘digital handoff’ smoother for providers, we are able to help get more patients into treatment and to sustain their recovery.”
APF is implementing eIntervention across Massachusetts initially and plans on expanding across multiple states by the end of 2019.
