Zac Onufrychuk joined Addiction Policy Forum after receiving his M.A degree in Criminology from George Mason University. During his graduate career he worked for GMU’s Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence. He also has experience working in multiple advocacy based non-profits in D.C. Beyond his professional and academic interest in treatment and recovery, Zac also holds a personal passion for the field given his front-line experience. He is in long-term recovery, but spent years battling a severe substance use disorder. Knowing the obstacles and difficulties faced by those who suffer from this illness, he now strives for more accessible, available and effective treatment options.
