Lisbet Hope Portman has been advocating for substance use disorder treatment and criminal justice reform as a writer, researcher, and teacher for the past decade. Her writing about mental health treatment and the architecture of criminal justice systems has appeared in Pioneer Magazine, Scapegoat Journal, and Spatial Violence (Routledge, 2017).

Lisbet received her undergraduate degree in American Studies from Smith College and her masters in Creative Nonfiction Writing from the University of Montana. She has collaborated on projects with the Addiction Policy Forum since 2015 while living in Montana and recently joined the team in Washington, D.C. as Lead Writer/Director of Special Projects.
