Jim Freund lost his son, Scott, to addiction when he was 20 years old. For the past five years, he has dedicated himself to finding solutions that will save other families from the suffering he and his family have had to endure.

Jim has advocated for systemic changes to the healthcare system and has educated families struggling with substance use disorders. In 2017, Jim testified before the President’s Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis.

Jim is an executive and entrepreneur in the high-tech industry. He lives in Ashburn with his wife. His daughter, Ashley, who lives in Arlington, also advocates for families suffering from substance use disorders and will be assisting him in this effort.
