Cindy Elliott is a person in long-term recovery from alcohol use disorder. Early in her recovery, Cindy’s father, Boyd Casper, died by suicide due to his own alcohol use disorder and from that day forward Cindy vowed to assist others struggling with addiction. Cindy acknowledges that her recovery is the result of having the support of a loving family, access to quality, evidence-based treatment, and recovery support programs such as AA, and has recently celebrated 7 years of sobriety. Cindy sponsors many women, has held several positions within AA and remains active with her home group. Like millions of others impacted by addiction, Cindy has experienced the demons, stigmas and personal battles people suffering from substance abuse disorders go through. It is with this experience she feels she can make a difference.
