Bob Catalano has been an advocate for families and individuals affected by SUDs for over two decades and has pioneered the launching of the New Recovery Advocacy Movement in the state of New Jersey. As a leading expert in recovery from substance use disorders (SUDs) and recovery support, he established the first Recovery Community Organization (RCO) in NJ under the guidance of Faces and Voices of Recovery. Bob has been a student of the legendary William L. White, having worked under his leadership during the City of Philadelphia’s transformation to a Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC). He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of North Carolina, is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) and Co-Occurring Disorders professional. Bob is currently in the final semester of the Master of Psychology program at California Coast University.
Bob is currently the Executive Director of Recovery Force of Atlantic County, a member of the Association of Recovery Community Organizations and serves on the advisory board for the New Jersey Coalition for Addiction Recovery Support (NJCARS). Bob is also a paid consultant for SAMHSA’s State Targeted Response Technical Assistance program, as part of the Center for Social Innovations New Jersey team.
