Senate Approves Funding to Address Addiction

The Senate Appropriations Committee passed the FY 17 Labor and Health and Human Services Appropriations bill, including $3.77 billion in funding for key programs to address addiction. The funding provided in the Senate bill represents $280 million increase in funding over FY16 levels. These include significant increases in funding for opioid-specific interventions and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
