To honor the 2,069 lives that were lost to substance use disorder in 2016, APF’s Massachusetts State Chapter hosted a #174aDay Vigil at Trinity Episcopal Church on January 28, 2018. Led by Aimee Manzoni- D’Arpino, APF’s Massachusetts State Chair, and Lindsey Messina, APF’s Regional Coordinator, the vigil started off with a prayer and worship song performed by Teen Challenge. Afterward, members of the community started sharing their experiences with substance use disorder. The event then led into a healing prayer, moment of silence, and candle-lighting services. To wrap up, the congregation was invited back for a potluck dinner with community members and representatives from different organizations.
