Addiction Funding Update

Congress appropriated $8.1 billion to address addiction for 2016 through treatment, prevention, recovery, enforcement and research programs.

For 2017 funding, we are working with Congress to continue funding for 26 existing programs that provide critical resources necessary to address this epidemic, and requesting funding for one new additional program, CARA. Each of the 27 priority programs is listed below and represent a total request of $8.3 billion for addiction funding in FY 2017.
