Urge your Representative to Support the Amended National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020

 

The House of Representatives passed a critical amendment modeled after the Fentanyl Sanctions Act, including it in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020! 

The amendment would help the United States hold countries accountable for their pledges to go after those who produce and/or traffic fentanyl and other synthetic opioids.

The House of Representatives will vote on the amended National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 today! 

 

Contact your Representative NOW and urge them to vote “YES” on the amended National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020! 

 

 

 

Specifically, the Fentanyl Sanctions amendment would: 

  • Impose sanctions on drug manufacturers in China and other counties who produce and/or traffic fentanyl and other synthetic opioids;
  • Authorize new funding to law enforcement and other government agencies to combat the trafficking of this substance; and,
  • Establish a Commission on Synthetic Opioid Trafficking to monitor efforts and report on how to more effectively combat trafficking of illicit synthetic opioids from foreign countries.
